Decompression

Decompression_Back_Pain

Decompression Therapy is an effective, non-surgical, way to treat disc herniations and/or degenerating discs. It is used to remove pressure off, or decompress, the discs and nerves. Each sequence helps the damaged disc receive more nourishment, expel cellular waste and enjoy reduced pressure. Through this process the healing can begin.

Decompression Therapy is not simply for treating the symptoms of the herniated disc; it positively affects the disc itself. It is highly effective, especially when combined with postural corrective chiropractic care.

Patients who may benefit from Decompression Therapy include the following:

  • Back pain
  • Neck pain
  • Herniated or Bulging Discs
  • Degenerative Disc Disease
  • Osteoarthritis
  • Facet Syndrome
  • Sciatica
  • Numbness and/or Tingling in the Arms or Legs

Decompression Therapy is typically 12 – 15 minutes long and a treatment plan can range 20-30 sessions in duration (depending on case severity). Many of our patients have reported an increase in their mobility, improved body function, and less pain as they go through the program, often within the first few treatments.

Does decompression therapy hurt?2017-06-12T04:54:08-04:00

No it does not. This therapy only pulls at 30-35% of your total body weight. This is a light enough pull not to be uncomfortable but enough to decompress the disc and start the healing process.

Is decompression covered by my insurance?2017-06-12T04:53:27-04:00

Decompression therapy unfortunately is not covered by Insurance, but we will use this therapy in conjunction with other treatments in our office that are covered by your insurance, which allows us to make this Decompression Therapy more affordable.

How long does relief from the decompression last?2017-06-12T04:52:47-04:00

Depending on the severity of the case, the time frame will different. The most important thing to understand is that the disc is being compressed due to the abnormal posture. Correcting your posture after decompression is what makes the treatment more permanent.

How much does each session cost?2017-06-12T04:52:10-04:00

Depending on the corrective care plan that you choose in our office, the cost can typically range from $50-$75 per session. We will always work with you to make this as affordable as possible.
