In one of our last posts, we discussed and shared a video about the 4 stretches for lower back and hip pain.  This was done with the goal of  decreasing and preventing the pain and discomfort most people feel. The next step, though, is to strengthen the core muscles so that you have to strength to withstand the “stresses” of life. The core exercises that we recommend to our patients are the following ..

1. Knee to Chest (with exercise ball)
2. Side to Side (with exercise ball)
3. Bridges
4. Planks

Now keep this in mind, these are very beginner exercises and some people may find these to be very easy.  There are modifications and variations for each of these exercises.  These are just the 4 that we tend to recommend in the very beginning.  We have tailored workouts to meets our patients needs.  Always know that something that may work for you, may not work for someone else, and vice versa.  Should you feel these are not for you, please reach out to us and we will do our best to direct you in the way that will benefit you the most.
